Formative assessment is presented as an essential pedagogical strategy in higher education to support hard-working evening students, who face particular challenges in combining study with work and family responsibilities. This essay analyzes how formative assessment, by offering continuous, clear and personalized feedback, facilitates self-regulation and autonomous learning, increasing the chances of academic success of this group. In addition, common obstacles such as traditional evaluation culture and the perception of overload are highlighted, along with the fundamental role of educational technologies that make the evaluation process more flexible and improve accompaniment. In conclusion, formative assessment is a key tool to promote inclusive educational environments, adapted to the specific needs of working evening students and oriented to the integral and sustained development of their competencies.
