Abstract

This study aims to explain how administrative simplification can improve the way government works, based on recent studies. The PRISMA 2020 method was used. The focus was on research published between 2021 and 2025, extracted from the Scopus database in Spanish and English. In the end, 30 relevant studies were selected for in-depth qualitative analysis.

The results of the study indicate that simplifying administrative processes improves efficiency and effectiveness. The government manages things properly and combines digitization, automation, and good leadership within institutions. In addition, citizens notice positive changes where public services become more accessible and transparent. However, there are still several significant obstacles, such as employee resistance to change, lack of technological infrastructure, and political tensions.

Administrative simplification is key to modernizing the public sector. For it to work effectively, it is essential to combine the use of technology, improve institutions, and ensure that citizens actively participate. All of this must go hand in hand to achieve a more efficient public administration.
